Piezoelectricity enhancement in graphene/polyvinylidene fluoride composites due to graphene-induced α → β crystal phase transition

Piezoelectric polymers represented by polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) possess many attractive attributes so they are widely used in electromechanical energy conversion devices. To further enhance the piezoelectric effect of PVDF, graphene and its derivatives have been added. A central issue is how added improves properties graphene/PVDF composites. Starting from consideration crystal phase transition α to β PVDF due addition graphene, we first introduce Cauchy’s cumulative probability function characterize evolution as a content. Then, considering relationship between dipole, microscopic dipole moment macroscopic coefficient, theory piezoelectricity for composite obtained.
